Never underestimate the musical abilities of a DJ (deejay or disk-jockey)! Since the advent of playing records for other people, this art form has evolved through seasons of sampling, remixing, beat-matching and live-mixing, mashing, and even composing great music for dancing and listening!
Depending upon the student's goals, we focus on how to get started, fundamentals of decks and BPM, transitions, effects, and creativity.
Materials utilized are a notebook, a pencil, a deejay controller, a computer, and music files. Hardware and software depend upon several factors which may be discussed during initial correspondence and/or consultation.
Lessons are available for beginner to performance levels.
*DJ students often transition into drumming.*
Can you name a mashup of two songs that you really enjoy?
